Migration, making reference to butterflies in flight, is part of an ongoing exploration with stainless steel woven cloth, taking it from it's industrial purpose to a new context by combining with precious materials traditionally associated with jewelry.

To create the playful spotted pattern I developed a torch flame patina technique using a resist to color selectively. The interlocking links are hand forged sterling hoop rings, each holding a wafer thin piece of colored mesh, that when strung together, move freely to reveal shimmering, iridescent complimentary tones. A unique, proprietary design, mechanism allows the piece to be gathered to one side to modify the length and change the look of the piece.
